Enraptured
Mark Carson
Mark Carson has been bird-watching for over 70 years, principally in the British Isles, Spain, and Kenya, but also opportunistically on business trips to Europe, the Americas, India and Australia —and at sea in the Atlantic and Mediterranean.
For the last 40 years he has lived on the margin of Morecambe Bay, surrounded by waders to seaward, and owls around the house. It’s a rich habitat; even in winter the bird life throngs the shore, calling under the moon on frosty nights.
Some of his raptor poems have appeared before, but now they are joined by other species, and in different locations. This collection is full of the unexpected.

That was then
Duncan Darbishire
Duncan Darbishire’s poems are stark and tender. They bring often harsh, if beautiful, Lake District pasts to our apparently easier present. Evoking skills and negotiations with the elements almost lost to us now, he gently asks how much we gain in our forgetting. The answer he leaves to the reader.

Born and raised in the area, Duncan was a G P in Ulverston for more than 30 years. He has written poetry for much of his life and is a member of the 4th Monday Poets. He has been published in anthologies and magazines and been successful in poetry competitions. He is an Associate Member of the Royal Photographic Society.
